Getting Started #
Before going live—or at key points during the balance loading process—you should perform a final audit to ensure critical settings are correctly configured.
A crucial step in this audit is downloading the three Company Param Flags reports, which provide insight into key system settings:
- Audit Flags
- Attach Batch Reports
- SubLedger Interfaces
Each report includes an Overall Status column that indicates:
- Inactive – At least one option is turned off across the modules.
- Active – All required settings are enabled, ensuring your system is fully prepared for live transactions.
Verifying these settings before go-live helps prevent unexpected issues and ensures smooth financial and operational processing.
Final Audit of Setup #
To download the reports, click the Reports button on the ribbon, search for flags, and you will see the three reports.
Select all three reports and click the Download Selected button.

You want the Overall Status column to show Active. If it does not, scroll to the right to find columns labeled Inactive or None. If these are related to modules you use, you will need to activate them within Vista.
Audit Flags
Enabling Audit Flags ensures that the system tracks and logs audit detail changes across the database. This audit trail is crucial for troubleshooting issues, identifying who made changes and when, and maintaining data integrity. Without Audit Flags, it becomes significantly harder to diagnose errors or investigate historical data changes.

Attach Batch Reports
These reports are generated when validating and posting batches in Vista. If the Attach Batch Reports setting is turned on, these reports are automatically stored in HQ Batch Control for future reference. This ensures that users can retrieve, review, and verify batch reports at any time, making it easier to audit financial transactions and reconcile discrepancies.

SubLedger Interfaces
Beyond the Code Format, the SubLedger Interfaces are among the most critical settings in Vista. These interfaces control how transactional data flows between subledgers (AP, AR, Job Cost, etc.) and the General Ledger.
- If SubLedger Interfaces are turned off when batches are posted, key financial details may not transfer correctly.
- For example, if the interface to GL is disabled, you might see AP invoices recorded, but no corresponding GL activity on the trial balance—leading to reconciliation issues.
Ensuring that SubLedger Interfaces are properly enabled prevents data gaps and ensures the integrity of your financial reporting.
